Meeting Ofelia

I met Ofelia because my friend Edwin, editor for Sodapop Magazine, asked me to do a shoot for him. Even though he's currently living in Japan, he somehow was able to find Ofelia here in Quito, Ecuador to make everything happen. We cut it close to the deadline, but were able to pull it off and get the Sodapop photos in the current (Jan 2017) issue.

After Ofelia and I got what we needed for the magazine we were able to hang out and get to know each other. After living in Ecuador for the past seven months it's easy to see that she's somewhat of a rare bread here. Ecuador, though beautiful, is incredibly conservative, so finding a model who's comfortable being nude is not common. Because this country is still a little behind the times when it comes to sexuality, compared to most first world cultures and even places like Brazil and Argentina, Ofelia is a bit of a trailblazer. I'm lucky to be part of her fight and I owe huge thanks to Edwin his role in all of it.

I'll be posting more photos of Ofelia as time goes on. In the meantime here's a handful of images.
