Ecuador and the Start of Something Completely Different

Sitting uncomfortably with my back against the wall in the Ft. Lauderdale airport. This decision to move to Quito, Ecuador with my wife and our four kids started less than a year ago. We sold our house and got rid of almost all of our belongings. With only two checked bags, weighing less than forty pounds each, and our carry ons wheeling behind us we are packing light for a family of six.

We've never been to Ecuador, don't know Spanish, don't know where we'll be living yet, and plan on being gone for at least a year. I'm surprisingly calm considering, but it doesn't stem from my stupidity.

We don't know the particulars that will evolve from this, but we're compelled either way.
